The Farm is in the early stages of creating a very unique educational experience program that allows students to learn the basics of how things grow, the health value of vegetables and healthy eating, experience The Farm & return to their schools to establish a school garden of their own.
For our first educational program, we partnered with Asbell Elementary School in Fayetteville and conducted a 5 day educational program.
Day 1 – Classroom teaching of the principles of how plants grow, healthy eating & the food pyramid
Day 2 – The Farm Experience of how a Community Farm operates
Day 3 – The Farm Experience of planting vegetables, caring for them, and how they grow
Day 4 – School Garden preparation
Day 5 – School Garden planting & Fundamentals of Maintaining School Garden
